The authorities today shut Comilla Medical College for an indefinite period following a clash between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League, the student wing of ruling Awami League.
However, the examinations will be held as per schedule, Dr Mohsinuzzaman Chowdhury, principal of the medical college, told our correspondent.
The male students were asked to vacate their dormitories by 11:00am while the female students by 5:00pm today, the principal said.
The students, who are taking examinations, will be allowed only to stay at their hostels, the principal added.
The reason behind the BCL infighting could not be known immediately.
