President Abdul Hamid has formed a six-member search committee, who will recommend members for reconstitution of the Election Commission ahead of the next parliamentary polls.
A presidential letter, enlisting the names of the members has been sent to the cabinet division, Joynal Abedin, press secretary to the president, told The Daily Star.
The cabinet division will issue a gazette disclosing the names of the search committee members.
However, The Daily Star has gathered three names from highly placed sources who are in the committee. They are: Dr Muhammed Sadique, chairman of Bangladesh Public Service Commission, Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of Bangladesh Masud Ahmed, and Syed Manzoorul Islam, Professor of English Department of Dhaka University.
