The holy Lailatul Meraj will be observed across the country on the night of April 24 as the moon of Rajab month of 1438 Hijri was sighted on Wednesday in Bangladesh, reports BSS.
The National Moon Sighting Committee made the decision at a meeting after reviewing reports received from different parts of the country.
ABM Amin Ullah Nuri, joint secretary of the religious affairs ministry, chaired the meeting at the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram in the evening.
Mizan-ul-Alam, joint secretary (press) of the information ministry and Saiful Islam, joint secretary of the Cabinet Division, were present, among others.
