Death row criminal Harkat-ul-Jihad (Huji) chief Mufti Abdul Hannan will seek presidential clemency.
The copy of the verdict was read out to Mufti Hannan. He may file mercy petition to the president, said Mizanur Rahman, senior jail superintendent of Kashimpur High Security Jail.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday released the full text of its verdict upholding the death sentence of Harkat-ul-Jihad (Huji) chief Mufti Abdul Hannan and two others in a case filed over a grenade attack on ex-British envoy to Bangladesh Anwar Choudhury in 2004.
The jail authorities could execute their death sentences after 21 days and before 28 days from Tuesday.
