A Brahmanbaria court today granted bail to Rasraj Das, who was arrested over the attack on Hindus in the district’s Nasirnagar.
Judge of Brahmanbaria District and Sessions Judge’s Court Md Ismail Hossain passed the order around 11:00am today, reports our local correspondent.
Earlier on November 8, a bail petition of Rasraj was rejected, said petitioner’s council Advocate Nasir Mia.
On October 30, around 200 religious bigots attacked at least five temples, and vandalised and looted about 100 Hindu houses in several localities in Nasirnagar. The attackers also beat up more than 100 people.
Rasraj, a fisherman by profession and with background of little education, was detained after a Facebook post posted from a profile bearing his name triggered the attack.
