Without any prior announcement, they began the strike, causing immense sufferings for the passengers, he said.
He made this remark in a college of the capital on Wednesday.
Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation declared the countrywide strike on Tuesday. The strike entered second day on Wednesday.
At first, the strike started in Khulna division on Sunday in protest against the life sentence of bus driver Jamir Hossain.
Jamir was jailed for life by a court for his rash driving that led to a road accident in Manikganj resulting in the deaths of noted film director Tarek Masud, cinematographer Mishuk Munir and three others.
Countrymen are sufferings for the strike.
Sources said, the agitators registed ambulance and beat patients.
